The country is situated between 11 and 14 degrees north of the Equator in the Northern Hemisphere, which places it entirely within the tropics. Nicaragua's winter (or rainy season) lasts from May - October. The summer (or dry season) lasts from November - April. Rain during these months may mean just a quick shower each afternoon, or it may go on for days.
Temperatures range 81 - 90 degrees during the rainy season and 86 - 95 degrees in the dry season, but regionally vary remarkably.
